  • Today I Pack

Why do some of us hate the thought of packing for a trip? Why do we procrastinate until the last possible minute and then throw everything together into a large piece of luggage?  Don't get me wrong, I do like to travel. Maybe it is the reality that I might forget something important, (very likely), or maybe it is just pure laziness.

    So here's the question:

Do you like to travel? If you do, do you enjoy packing for the trip?

I have to be packed for the airport the night before the flight now because inevitably something comes up the day of, that doesn't allow for packing. Or, for truth's sake, I wake up at the time I'm supposed to be leaving for the airport and I'm unprepared. =) I usually let someone else pack for me. Be it a friend or a sister. (Not many people know this.)

I like to travel but, like you, I hate to pack.  I also wake up at the last minute to do it... or, if my fiance makes me, I pack a little the night before and finish it the next morning.  Either way I usually forget something important. =)

    packing IS over-rated!

happy packing! btw, you can live without a lot more than you think you can so dont panic about possibly forgetting something. Just resign yourself to the fact that you WILL forget something important but you will learn that it wasn't as important as you thought it would be.

i like to travel & i like to actually pack the bag (it's like a puzzle), but i don't enjoy gathering everything together....

Yes. Of course and always and everywhere. No. I always wait until the last minute and my suitcase usually has tons of stuff lying around it because for days I put things there so I won't forget them. Once I'm done, don't make me repack my bag. That would be torture.

Traveling is wonderful and packing is the means to an end. My philosophy for packing: less is more!!! Still having trouble putting the philosophy into practice. Have a great trip! I'm praying for all of you.

I love traveling, but packing is definitely not fun. That is why I always wait until the night before I leave.

I love both. I finally have things down to a science for packing - I love knowing that there is only a slight possibility that I will forget something. I take the same things, every time and always keep my travel items ready to go at a moments notice.

Although, after 10 flights in the last 14 days, I don't mind a little ground time. 4 canceled flights, 18 hours of delay, 2 re-routed flights, one too many airport meals and standing in the security line a few too many times are just a couple of my traveling woes. I guess the more you fly, the greater your chances are for problems.

Let's see...i guess i'm the type to wait till last minute to pack. I packed for my 3 month trip to Romania like 5 hours before the flight...i comforted myself in the fact that if i do forget something, i could always buy it there (and usually cheaper too!) Good luck, and keep yourself sane! (and don't forget ur toothbrush, it's kind of embarrasing when u forget that ;)

oh, I really know what you mean. Traveling is great but I was packing almost a week when I came to the states but have fun! With good music is everything a little bit easier! Enjoy your time in Taiwan!

I love going on trips but I detest packing!  I never pack until a couple hours before.  Have an awesome trip to Taiwan!!  If you see Lauren Cyrus tell her "hey" for me!  :))

  • JamesThe1andOnly

I love to travel and I used to like packing, but the last couple of time I went somewhere, I hated the thought of packing...I agree with Aloisia though....good music does make everything easier.....Have fun packing and I'll be praying for you in Taiwan!

As someone once said... "Wherever you are... be all there!" Thus, it would seem that there is no rush to pack until needed. Needed may be qualified according to the individual, though. hmm... I think that is circular reasoning...

I used to LOVE packing. But...I loved it SO much that I think I got burned out packing for all 3 of us girls all the time when we were little. So...now I put it off as long as possible. Have fun though!

I love to travel! Packing is ehh... well for a long time I had to share lugauge with my sister and we have completey differant styles of packing, but now that it's just my stuff I enjoy it alot more.
  • lbushatz
Packing? it takes like 2 seconds. I love the travel though.

I love to travel and packing is the last mental preperation for me to leave.  I usually pack at the last minute so that I don't forget anything, however I usually always forget my toothbrush.
  • eowyngrey

my packing style is usually determined by the trip i'm taking. short notice or well thought out? leisurely or chaotic? deliberately sophisticated or casual and laid back? road trips with girl friends usually end up being the last minute packing type, whereas europe requires an estimated packing headstart of 2 weeks.

travelling is the most expensive hobby ever, and i love it.

hi again. it's been a while.

  • ThoughtProvoker

I'm glad today was a good day...

I still pack like when i was in the military;-use a duffle bag and toss everything in it, then you don't forget anything
  • giraffejockey

I LOVE traveling! Usually, though, I have a terror that I forgot something. It's a good thing my head is attached, or I might leave it behind somewhere.

Hey, how was the last week in Taiwan?
